Cleaning the frontal sinuses. Rinsing the nose and maxillary sinuses in the treatment of sinusitis

Welcome, dear readers, to the blog. Today we will continue the topic of cleansing the body. We will talk about a problem whose origins we acquire in early childhood, when we get our first cold, runny nose, and nasal congestion. It all starts out very harmlessly. And it ends with serious complications that many don’t even think about. But poor vision, headaches, decreased mental activity can be associated with clogged mucus and pus deposits in the frontal and maxillary sinuses.

Every cold produces a stream of mucus that comes out through the maxillary and frontal sinuses. The mucus partially comes out, but a small layer remains, which turns from a gelatinous mass into a hard surface. As a result, these cavities are filled with a dense substance on which pathogenic microorganisms multiply well. The process of decay begins with the formation of an alkaline environment and various toxic products, and the person does not suspect that he has half a kilogram of pus inside his head.

This causes headaches, deterioration of vision, hearing, smell, and weakening of memory.

The activity of the brain is disrupted, the person becomes mentally unbalanced.

Recipe No. 1

To clear the maxillary and frontal sinuses from the mucous jelly compressed into them, you need to breathe over the steam with your nose for 15 minutes. The jelly will soften and now we can dissolve it by drawing in sea water through one nostril, while closing the second nostril with our finger.

Then we change the nostrils. Along with the solution, pus will come out of the nose.

Recipe No. 2

2-3 times a day, lying on your back, place one drop of diluted (1x10) cyclamen tuber juice into your nose (a very unpleasant procedure). After instillation, you need to lie on your back for 3-4 minutes. Then get up and drink 2-3 glasses of hot herbal infusion with honey and lemon juice. After this, bend down to the floor for 1-2 minutes, straighten up and wash your face and nose with hot water. You can do inhalation with eucalyptus leaves, mint or fir oil, and star balm. Instillation with cyclamen should be done in courses of 7-14 days.

Recipe No. 3

Crush 2 cloves of garlic and pour raw sunflower oil to the top. Leave for 2 hours, then drop into the nose 3 times a day.

Recipe No. 4

Mix 1 tablespoon of red beet juice with 1 tablespoon of honey. Store the mixture in the refrigerator. Place in the nose 3 times a day. Red beet juice can be replaced with carrot juice.

The procedures should be carried out until the sinuses are completely cleansed, which a person will feel when his former vision and hearing return.

In many people, a lot of mucus accumulates and becomes compressed in the head and lung area. The main reasons: eating at night, incorrect sequence of food consumption, excessive consumption of mucus-forming foods. The mental clamp located in the chest and head also contributes to stagnation of mucus and frequent colds.

This clamp is easily diagnosed - when a person is worried, he experiences unpleasant sensations in the chest area. A slight stutter when excited indicates that the clamp is located in the throat area.

The presence of mucus in these places contributes to the development of chronic and oncological pulmonary diseases, loss of vision and hearing.

In some cases, this cleansing procedure becomes very important. Every cold produces a stream of mucus that exits through the maxillary and frontal sinuses into the nasopharynx.

At the end of the disease, in the above cavities, the mucus gradually turns into xerogel - a solid dehydrated mass. All this adversely affects overall health:

headaches, vision, hearing, and smell are lost, memory weakens, and normal brain activity is disrupted. In most cases, the accumulation of xerogel mass proceeds so secretly that a person does not suspect that there are 1–2 cups of fossilized substance inside his skull.

In order to cleanse the maxillary and frontal cavities from the mucus accumulated in them, you need to consistently go through all the stages of cleansing, that is, turn the hardened mucus into a fluid one and get rid of it.

Mucus thinning

The best way to do this is to use local steam and water baths for the head. The procedure lasts 5 minutes, and then you need to rinse your head with cool water. For successful liquefaction, various substances and plants can be added to the water.

1. “Head bath” - in addition to “fermenting” mucus, it is very good for maintaining the blood vessels of the brain in a healthy state. First, immerse the scalp in a container of warm water for 5–7 minutes, then in cool water for 15–30 seconds. This is repeated 2-3 times. After this procedure, you need to wipe your head dry and stay in a warm room. Use 2-3 times a week until desired results are achieved. It has been noticed that such a bath has a strengthening effect on the hair.

Warning. You should not immerse your face in water to avoid bursting the blood vessels in your eyes.

2. The steam procedure is intended to cleanse the skin of the face and head, soften and remove the dense contents of the maxillary and frontal sinuses, and cleanse the nasopharynx for colds. It softens mucus in the lungs well and helps with pain in the shoulders and neck.

This procedure is performed like this: having undressed to the waist, you place the source of steam (water, freshly boiled potatoes) on a low chair, bench, sit down on a regular one and cover yourself with a blanket. By tilting your head towards the steam source, you regulate the heating of your head.

It is advisable to add herbs to the water: sage, mint, elderberry, plantain, linden blossom, nettle, hay dust, dill.

The procedure lasts as long as steam comes out of the pan, usually 15–20 minutes. Afterwards, it is recommended to take a cool shower (without wetting your head) for 10-30 seconds. Then you need to move vigorously to warm up the body and dry completely. It is not recommended to do more than 2-3 such procedures per week.

3. Propolis, alcohol tincture. Boil water in a saucepan, pour in 1/2 teaspoon of propolis. Cover your head and breathe over this pan.

4. Sand an ebonite disk with a diameter of 110 mm and a thickness of 10 mm on one side. Then the polished side is stroked over the face (forehead, cheeks, chin) clockwise. Make one revolution over the face for a second.

Friction on the skin generates an electrical charge, which, by charging mucus particles, repels them from each other, thereby liquefying them. The procedure lasts 10–15 minutes. It is recommended to do twice a day, morning and evening.

It is used for sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, headaches, toothache. If you have a toothache, stroke the sore spot and hold the disc over the area for a while (3-5 minutes).

5. Black radish, due to its strong penetrating, liquefying, crushing and disinfecting properties, can have a strong healing effect for sinusitis. Directions for use: Pass a medium-sized root vegetable through a meat grinder.

Apply the resulting cake to the nasal or frontal sinuses. Tie a towel on top. After some time, a strong burning sensation will begin, which indicates that heating, liquefaction and disinfection are taking place. The whole procedure takes 10–15 minutes. For children with their delicate skin, its duration can be shortened.

It usually takes about 2-5 such procedures (once a day) to get rid of pus in the maxillary sinuses for many years.

6. To thin the mucus, use a mixture of grated horseradish root (150 g) and the juice of 2-3 lemons. The mixture helps decompose mucus in places where it accumulates without damaging the mucous membranes. Does not irritate the kidneys, gall bladder and mucous membrane of the digestive tract. Take 2 times a day, 1/2 teaspoon on an empty stomach.

7. In a liter jar, fill 1/4-1/3 of the volume with dry herbs in equal quantities: mint, snuff, eucalyptus. Pour olive oil over the mixture. Leave until everything turns green or brown. Store in a dark place.

Due to the abundance of essential oils in these plants, the resulting composition is a powerful solvent of various organic solids and is especially good at dissolving xerogel accumulated in the cavities of the head.

Application: instill 20-25 drops into each nostril. After instillation, you should remain in a horizontal position for about 3-5 minutes so that the composition can get inside and produce a dissolving effect. It is recommended to instill in the morning and at night. In addition to everything, the composition improves sleep.

If there is an inflammatory process in the middle ear, you should instill the composition into the ears several times a day, 2-3 drops, and then put cotton wool in the ear. This can also be done if your hearing is impaired - before bed.

8. If you cannot prepare the remedies described above, take fresh urine and bury it in your nose, 10–15 drops in each nostril. You can use evaporated or “old” urine (it will be most effective), but in a slightly smaller dosage.

Expulsion of mucus

It is necessary to rinse the nasopharynx with a liquid that, through osmosis, would draw pus and mucus towards itself, and also easily pass through the ethmoid bone and dissolve the xerogel. The best and most accessible is your own warm urine. It can be replaced with sea water or just a salt solution.

The rinsing procedure is done as follows: close one nostril, and with the other, suck the liquid into the nasal cavity and spit it out through the mouth. Then repeat through the other nostril. The above procedures are carried out until the head is completely cleansed and normal sensory sensations return: vision, hearing and especially smell.

If you exclude mucus-forming foods from your diet - dairy, flour, fatty foods, then you will get rid of mucus once and for all. Moderate periods of fasting further contribute to the cleansing process, but in this case only urine should be used.

Sonic cleansing of head cavities

You can cleanse the frontal and maxillary sinuses by pronouncing various sounds that cause vibrations. They “shake out” mucus, clots, and stimulate tissue nutrition. Therefore, it is best to combine them with the procedures described above.

For example, take a breath and say “en-n-n-n” 5-6 times. Next, say “um-mm-mm” the same number of times. The sound “y” makes the head cavity resonate especially strongly. After such vibration treatment, rinse the nasopharynx with urine or salted water. You can rinse with warm water with the addition of Lugol's solution (2-3 drops per 200 ml of water).

If you don't clean your sinuses regularly, pollen, dust, bacteria, and viruses begin to accumulate in them. In winter, this procedure moisturizes the mucous membrane, helps to cope with blockage of the respiratory system and makes breathing more rhythmic. In this case, you need to follow certain rules for performing the procedure and contraindications for cleansing the sinuses. This can be done at home using both special salt solutions and medicinal infusions.

Indications for use and rules of procedure

The maxillary sinuses should be cleansed as a preventive measure against colds, chronic rhinitis, and inflammatory processes (in the tonsils, lungs, and sinuses themselves). The procedure is useful for polyps, frequent headaches and drowsiness. For sinusitis, the frontal sinuses are washed. Other indications for the procedure are:

  • frequent allergies;
  • life in a metropolis;
  • the need to moisturize the nasal mucous membranes;
  • removal of pollen, dust, bacteria;
  • blepharoconjunctivitis;
  • lacrimation.

Contraindications to cleaning the sinuses are a deviated nasal septum, excessive growth of polyps, swelling that cannot be relieved by rinsing and vasoconstrictor drops. The procedure cannot be carried out in case of otitis media, inflammation of the ear (increases the risk of infection spreading to other areas), allergies to the solution (the appropriate liquid must be selected), frequent nosebleeds, existing acute respiratory viral infections, acute respiratory infections (since in these diseases pathogens along with the product can enter the middle ear).

There are several ways to properly clear your sinuses:

  1. Pour the essence into a bowl or basin (you can use a special jug). One nasal passage should be closed (it should be held with a finger). Bend over the dishes, suck in the solution through one nostril, then blow your nose. You need to repeat the procedure 5-10 times for each pass.
  2. The liquid can be instilled into the nasal cavity using a pipette. To do this, you need to bow your head and apply 4-5 drops alternately in both passes.
  3. Take the liquid into a syringe, a “medicinal bulb”, bow your head and slowly inject the solution under pressure into the upper nostril. The essence will pass through the nasopharynx, flowing out through the second nasal passage, and some of the liquid may pour out through the mouth.

You can lubricate your nostrils with sesame or olive oil before cleansing. If disease prevention is carried out, rinsing is done once a day, and during the treatment period the course is 2-4 times a day.

Sinus cleansing at home

Remedies used at home are decoctions of the following plants:

  • chamomile (has an anti-inflammatory effect);
  • calendula (destroys pathogenic bacteria, relieves inflammation);
  • eucalyptus (has an expectorant effect);
  • Kalanchoe (neutralizes the inflammatory process);
  • strings (relieves inflammation, destroys viruses, has an expectorant effect);
  • sage (slightly disinfects, has an anti-inflammatory effect).

All solutions are prepared as follows: brew 1 tbsp in 250 ml of boiling water. l. raw materials, keep for about 10 minutes in a water bath. The product is infused for about 30 minutes, after which it is filtered and becomes ready for use. Cleaning with such decoctions can be carried out about 6 times a day.

St. John's wort infusion is also used: 1 tbsp. l. raw materials are poured with 250 ml of boiling water and infused for about 1 hour, filtered. Cotton swabs are dipped into the product and inserted into each nasal sinus. The procedure is done 2 times a day.

In addition to decoctions, juices (onion, diluted with water, beetroot, carrot) can also be used as a wash. The drink, when it gets on the mucous membrane, causes sneezing and thus removes mucus. Juices can be dropped into the nose.

Salt solutions and steam inhalation

Inhaling steam will help clear your sinuses. Such inhalations should be done every 10-15 minutes. The procedures ensure dilation of the nasal vessels and thinning of purulent mucus. Salt-based solutions are also used. They can be weak or concentrated. The first is used as prophylaxis, and the second as therapy for purulent processes.

Saline solutions can be used in 3 forms:

  • Saline solution - thins mucus, soaks existing crusts in the nose, removes bacterial and viral infections.
  • Essence with sea salt - relieves inflammation in the nasal cavity. To prepare it, you need to mix 1 tsp. salt with 1 liter of water. This liquid can be used as a prophylaxis, and the following ratio is used to remove pus - 1 tsp. salt per 250 ml of water.
  • At the pharmacy you can buy drops or sprays based on saline solution for rinsing the sinuses.

Another remedy that cleanses the entire body, restoring its protective function, is a bath (if there are no contraindications, for example, elevated body temperature). The airways will be moistened and warmed, making it very easy to blow your nose after the procedure.

It often happens that a person has almost recovered from sinusitis, but viscous mucus continues to form in his nose. In this case, blowing your nose does not bring relief for long, so you need to resort to more radical methods. You can clear your sinuses at home by rinsing the nasal passages with various antiseptic compounds. Such procedures will help quickly restore normal nasal breathing and reduce the formation of thick secretions. In addition, warming up the nasal cavity with dry heat can be used.

Indications for sinus cleansing

You should not resort to self-cleaning of the nasal appendages with severe nasal congestion and otitis media.

Benefits of the procedure

Clearing mucus from the sinuses is a very useful procedure. Thanks to simple manipulations you can achieve the following results:

  • Significantly improve nasal breathing.
  • Thoroughly clear the nasal passages and sinuses of viscous mucus.
  • Restore the natural microflora of the nasopharynx.
  • Reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa.
  • Cleanse the nasal cavity from pathogenic viruses, bacteria and fungi.
  • Prevent the spread of infection throughout the body.
  • Prevent complications and relapses of diseases.

Regular cleaning of the nasal sinuses is necessary if you are prone to allergies to household dust and pollen. It is also useful to carry out rinsing in the cold season, when the mucous membrane dries out quickly due to too dry indoor air.

By rinsing the nose several times a day, the unpleasant symptoms of respiratory diseases quickly disappear, and the patient gets better. Before starting such procedures, you should consult a doctor who will determine their feasibility and advise which medicinal solutions to use.

Medicinal compositions

If too much mucus accumulates in the nose, this may indicate the development of a disease such as sinusitis. To cleanse the sinuses of mucus and pus, various medications prescribed by the doctor can be used.

To reduce swelling of the membranes and improve drainage functions, decongestants are used. Most often doctors prescribe the following medications:

When treating with such medications, it is important to strictly follow all the recommendations of your doctor. You should not take decongestant medications for more than a week. Treatment can be continued only according to doctor's indications.

Medicinal decongestant sprays can be used to cleanse the nasal sinuses for no more than 3 days. Otherwise, even greater stagnation of the viscous secretion is possible.

If excess mucus is associated with an allergic reaction, then antihistamines are used.

You can quickly clear your sinuses at home using Furacilin solution. You can buy it ready-made at the pharmacy chain, or prepare it yourself. The latter option is more preferable, since the cost of such a solution is lower.

To prepare a healing solution, take two Furacilin tablets, crush them and dissolve them in hot water. After this, the solution is cooled and filtered through a couple of layers of gauze to remove undissolved particles. You can rinse your nose with Furacilin solution three times a day, the total duration of therapy is a week.

Soda solution

You can also rinse your sinuses at home with a soda solution. This composition has a number of useful properties:

  • Reduces swelling and inflammation.
  • Disinfects the nasal cavity.
  • Softens the mucous membrane.
  • Normalizes the drainage functions of the sinuses.

To prepare a soda solution, you need to take a teaspoon of baking soda and a glass of hot water. To make the solution more effective, it can be prepared using decoctions of various medicinal herbs. Most often, a soda solution is prepared based on a decoction of calendula, chamomile and sage.

With congestion in the nose, severe pain often occurs in the bridge of the nose and forehead. To eliminate this unpleasant symptom, painkillers based on ibuprofen are used.

Cleaning the nose with salt solution

You can clear your sinuses using a medium-strength saline solution. This solution is prepared from a teaspoon of salt and a liter of pre-boiled water. To remove purulent contents from the sinuses, it is necessary to use a more concentrated composition. To increase the effectiveness of the saline solution, you can add a couple of drops of alcohol tincture of iodine to it, but it is worth considering that such treatment is not recommended for small children and people with endocrinological pathologies.

You can prepare a solution for rinsing your sinuses from sea salt and warm water. In this case, also take a teaspoon of dry matter per glass of water. Sea water disinfects the nasal cavity well, washes away mucus and pathogenic bacteria, and also helps eliminate swelling and inflammation.

If you don’t want to prepare a saline solution, you can buy ready-made preparations based on sea salt at the pharmacy chain. This includes Humer, Dolphin and Ava Maris. For preventive purposes, it is necessary to rinse the nasal passages only once a day, but to treat a runny nose, such procedures must be carried out several times a day.

During an outbreak of respiratory diseases, it is recommended to rinse your nose immediately after returning from the street or visiting crowded places. Due to this, you can reduce the risk of contracting colds.

Traditional cleansing methods

You can also clear your sinuses at home using various decoctions of medicinal herbs. But before resorting to such treatment, you should make sure that the patient is not allergic to such herbal compositions. To do this, apply a concentrated decoction to the skin inside the elbow and wait 15 minutes; if there is no redness, then the decoction can be safely used.

To prepare a healing decoction, you need to take a tablespoon of any suitable medicinal herb, pour a glass of boiling water and keep warm for about 20 minutes, then strain through gauze and use to rinse your nose. Chamomile, sage leaves, calendula and yarrow have good antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant properties. You can make a decoction either from a single herb or from a collection of different herbs.

You can prepare the decoction immediately for a day. The composition should be stored in the refrigerator. Before use, the required amount of solution is heated to a comfortable temperature.

To rinse the nasal sinuses at home, you can use a special teapot, syringe or large disposable syringe without a needle. If a teapot is used for washing, then the procedure is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • The person stands next to the bathtub or large basin and tilts his head to the side.
  • The medicinal solution is poured into the nostril that is located above. In this case, the jet must be adjusted based on your feelings.
  • After rinsing one nostril, rinse the second, turning the head in the other direction accordingly.

If the procedure is carried out correctly, the liquid flows randomly from the underlying nostril, washing away mucus and pathogenic microorganisms.

With great care, you need to rinse your nasal sinuses using a syringe or syringe. With very high pressure, there is a high probability of liquid entering the auditory tube.

Warming up

To clear your sinuses of accumulated mucus, you can warm them with dry heat. But such procedures can only be carried out if purulent contents do not drain from the nose. To warm up you can use:

  • Heated dry salt poured into a cotton bag.
  • Boiled egg.
  • Blue lamp.

Dry heat is applied to the nasal sinuses for 15 minutes, after which they blow their nose well. Before warming up, the nose can be instilled with vasoconstrictor drops.

It is recommended to cleanse the nasal sinuses both during and after respiratory and infectious diseases, especially if there are residual effects. To do this, the nasal passages can be washed or warmed with dry heat; the use of medications is allowed.

Sinusitis is a disease in which the mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus becomes inflamed. It is accompanied by difficulty breathing through the nasal passages due to mucus and pus that accumulate there. The disease can occur as a consequence of untreated rhinitis, due to inflammation in the teeth or past infections.

Nasal rinsing for sinusitis is usually carried out in medical institutions, however, most patients also use traditional methods of treatment. Often the nasal cavity is washed at home. This procedure is not at all complicated (see video below).

Thanks to proper and regular rinsing of the nose, you can prevent serious swelling, completely cleanse the nasopharynx and remove purulent contents. It is important to note that as a result, the general well-being of the patient also improves.

How to properly rinse your nose with sinusitis: video

The technique of rinsing the nose for sinusitis has its own rules and characteristics. The purpose of lavage is to free the nasal sinuses from pathological secretions and restore nasal breathing. Usually, nasal rinsing is part of a comprehensive treatment prescribed by a doctor.

Regardless of the type of liquid chosen, the basic steps for rinsing the nose are the same:

  1. Before washing, you should clear your nose so that it is not stuffy. If necessary, use vasoconstrictor drugs (Naphthyzin, Tizin, Rinazolin) to temporarily relieve swelling and normalize air flow through the nasal canals. 5–10 minutes after using vasoconstrictor drops, you can begin the procedures.
  2. In order to perform the necessary manipulation at home, you can use a syringe or large syringe without a needle.
  3. The washing procedure begins with the person bending over the sink with his head tilted to one side, with one nostril located above, and the liquid contents from the selected device are poured into it.
  4. The solution, having passed through the nasopharynx, should flow out in an even stream through the mouth or second nostril.
  5. Repeat the procedure 2–4 times during the day, the duration of such treatment is one to two weeks.
  6. The amount of solution used per application is 100 – 200 ml.
  7. The temperature of the solution should not exceed 38 - 40 degrees.
  8. Before choosing a solution for washing, you should make sure that there is no allergic reaction to its components.

Depending on the individual characteristics of the patient, nasal rinsing for sinusitis can be done using various means: from simple boiled water and herbal infusions to pharmaceuticals.

Each remedy has a positive effect on the patient’s body, but its effectiveness largely depends on the degree of complexity of the disease, the nature of the course, intolerance to a certain drug composition, the ability of the immune system to fight infectious agents, etc.

Cuckoo

This technique is carried out in medical institutions. Typically, such washing is prescribed for sinusitis, in parallel with drug therapy.

Before starting the procedure, the patient lies on his back and tilts his head slightly back. The specialist inserts flexible catheters into the patient’s nostrils and injects an antibacterial agent through one of them, and through the other the used solution is pumped out.

During rinsing, the patient must constantly pronounce the syllable “ku”, which helps to tone the muscles of the soft palate - this is necessary so that the medicine is concentrated in the nasal cavity and does not enter the mouth and respiratory tract located below the level of the nasopharynx.

Why is this procedure needed?

Lavages are used to treat a wide range of acute and chronic sinus diseases. Indications for the procedure include:

  • cold;
  • acute and chronic sinusitis;
  • acute and chronic rhinosinusitis;
  • drying of the nasal mucosa;
  • prevention of respiratory infections;
  • recovery period after ENT operations and others;
  • hay fever (allergic rhinitis and often accompanying sinusitis).

The benefits of rinsing sessions obvious to humans:

  • mechanical removal of mucus and pus;
  • “breaking up” stagnation;
  • washing away germs and removing them from the sinuses;
  • improvement of capillary tone;
  • increasing the protective properties of the mucous membrane;
  • restoration of the natural drainage function of the sinuses without puncture;
  • reduction of swelling of the mucous membrane and maxillary sinuses;
  • reducing the concentration of allergens and inflammatory mediators in allergic sinusitis;
  • if a puncture cannot be avoided, rinsing will help prepare the sinuses for this operation.

Thus, rinsing the nose during sinusitis means ensuring the most important goals of therapy - accelerating the outflow of mucus and pus, reducing inflammation and the intensity of the infectious process, and quickly eliminating symptoms.

How to rinse your nose with sinusitis at home?

So, what is the best solution to rinse your nose with sinusitis? Answering the question of what to use to rinse the nose for sinusitis, it is worth noting that almost every first aid kit contains certain medications, as well as folk remedies that can be used for this purpose.

It is also worth noting that although rinsing the nose is a relatively safe procedure, the following is important here: rinsing requires strict adherence to all recommendations. When doing this for the first time, carefully read the descriptions. If you are not sure that you can do everything correctly, go to the hospital and ask a medical professional to rinse your nose. Once you understand the principle, you can easily repeat this procedure at home.

Rinsing the nose with furatsilin

As is known, furatsilin has high antiseptic properties. It is usually sold either in the form of tablets, powders, or in the form of a ready-made solution. In order to rinse your nose, you will need a liquid, the color of which should be moderate yellow.

If such a solution is prepared at home, you should carefully ensure that all the grains dissolve. To prepare a solution of furatsilin, you need to dissolve half the tablet in two glasses of boiled water. The course of treatment with Furacilin is 1-5 weeks. The solution for each wash must be prepared anew each time.

Aqua Maris

This drug is purified sea water, which contains trace elements, chlorine, magnesium, calcium, sodium. The use of the drug makes mucus less viscous, relieves swelling, stimulates the epithelium, and kills pathogens.

It is used as a complex therapy drug for a variety of diseases of the sinuses, nasal mucosa, rhinitis, sinusitis, and respiratory infections.

Rinsing the nose with salt for sinusitis

Saline solutions do not dry out the mucous membrane; they dilute the mucus accumulated in the sinuses and nasopharynx well and remove it from the nasopharynx. Such drugs have an anti-edematous effect.

You can rinse your nose with regular salt water. In this case, dissolve ½ teaspoon of table salt in a glass of warm boiled water. You can add ½ teaspoon of baking soda to this solution.

Dolphin

When rinsing the nose with Dolphin, a natural process of cleansing the sinuses from purulent accumulations occurs. In this case, the infection does not spread, and the mucous membrane is freed from pathological microorganisms. Among the beneficial properties of the drug it should be noted:

  • has an antiseptic effect;
  • has bactericidal properties;
  • stimulates the production of antimicrobial substances;
  • activates mucus production;
  • restores the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity;
  • normalizes the functioning of the epithelium (ciliated);
  • increases local immunity and accordingly stimulates the body’s protective properties;
  • normalizes the water-salt balance in the nose, etc.

Natural ingredients have an immunostimulating effect. The advantage of the product is that it can be used by children from 4 years of age not only for treatment, but also as a preventive measure during periods of increased morbidity.

Folk remedies

Propolis solution has proven itself to be an excellent means of combating sinusitis. To prepare it, you need to take a glass of warm, but not hot water and dissolve 15 drops of propolis in it. While the liquid has not cooled down, you need to start rinsing.

Herbal decoctions and infusions are often used for these purposes. Chamomile, string, oak bark - all this is used to prepare medicines.

Contraindications

When choosing a medication for rinsing, you need to make sure that the patient is not allergic to it. If there is an individual intolerance to a particular drug, it should be abandoned.

If you do not have confidence in your own abilities, and you doubt that you will carry out the procedure correctly, it is better to turn to specialists. When the principle of washing is clear to you, then once again you will certainly be able to repeat it yourself.
