What you can visit in Yalta. What to see and where to go in Yalta? Memorial Museum of L.Ukrainka

TOURISTS' ANSWERS:

Yalta is the heart of Crimea. Everyone who gathers to the shores of the Black Sea remembers her first. Some argue that the sea is dirty, prices are high, there is no service, but others really like Yalta. In fact, one can now find fault with any popular resort, but the nature of Crimea has been and remains one of the most luxurious and healing. By the way, Yalta is very loved by foreigners; it is here that you can hear foreign speech most often. Although few locals speak English. In addition to beach holidays and nature, there is a lot to see in Yalta. This resort has very great potential in this regard. I will tell you in more detail about the most interesting places, but I am more than sure that you have already heard about them or seen them with your own eyes more than once.

What is worth seeing in Yalta.

  • bird home- this mini-castle is known to almost everyone, no matter whether they have seen it in person or not. He is a real symbol and star of Yalta. In Soviet times, the Swallow's Nest appeared in more than one film, this is not surprising, the architecture of this building is so unique and beautiful that you can’t get enough of its charm. During the high season, there are a huge number of tourists here. Inside the mini-castle there is now an Italian restaurant; usually there are very few people in it, since it is expensive. However, you can not order food here, but instead drink a cup of aromatic coffee, tea or wine, and sit enjoying the gorgeous views.

  • Vorontsov Palace Park- a very beautiful place, the park occupies a very large area, in addition to flowers, bushes, trees, there are fountains, picturesque alleys, waterfalls. When you come here, be sure to take a camera with you, you will get great pictures as a souvenir. The park itself consists of two tiers: upper and lower. The lower one belongs to the sea strip, from which there is a view of Mount Ai-Petri, the upper tier is a walking area. The German gardener K. Kebach worked on all this beauty at one time; it took him a lot of time, about a quarter of a century.

  • Mount Ai-Petri- the height of the mountain is about 1200 meters. At the very top there is an observation deck with incredibly beautiful views. Having climbed here by cable car, you can sit in a cafe, drink hot warming tea, order something hot from food and enjoy the beauty. It makes sense to take a windbreaker with you, since you will feel the temperature contrast very quickly. You can get to Mount Ai-Petri from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Zoo "Fairy Tale"- This zoo is private. There are about 600 animals here. They always look very well-groomed and happy. Anyone can buy special food at the entrance to the zoo and feed the animal they especially like. You can even go into the cage of some animals and feed them by hand and pet them. This zoo has an amazing cafe, it is located right above the enclosure with wild tigers, the best thing about it is that the floor is absolutely transparent. Not everyone can come here for a meal.

The zoo is open every day from 09 am to 20 pm. Ticket price for an adult is 500 rubles, for children - 250 rubles.

  • Waterpark "Blue Bay"- this water park uses only sea water, this is its distinctive feature. During the season, of course, like everywhere else, there are long queues. The slides here are designed for both adults and children. The most extreme are "Kamikaze" - the height of an 8-story building and "Anaconda" - very long with all kinds of loops.

  • Cable car Miskhor - Ai-Petri- I advise those who like to tickle their nerves a little to take a ride on this cable car, in my opinion it is quite dangerous. Sitting inside and climbing to the highest point towards Ai-Petri, at some point it begins to take your breath away and thoughts creep into your head, what if... This cable car operates every day from 09 am to 18 pm. The cost of a one-way ticket for an adult is 180 rubles, for children - 90 rubles.

  • Livadia Palace- a very beautiful building, I would call it a work of art; a guide can better tell you about its long history on the spot. The palace was built in the Art Nouveau style; for this purpose, the architect Krasnov was specially invited, who for a long time could not decide on the project. But nevertheless, when you see the end result, you are amazed at the beauty and wonder why similar buildings are no longer built. The museum's opening hours are from 10.00 to 17.30, closed on Wednesdays. The entrance ticket price for an adult is 160 rubles, for children - 75 rubles.

Is the answer helpful?

Big Yalta has so many attractions that probably a lifetime would not be enough to see them all. After all, Greater Yalta includes the villages of Livadia, Miskhor, Gaspra, Foros, Simeiz, Koreiz, Nikita, Ai-Danil, Gurzuf, Partenit, the city of Alupka... This is quite a large territory!

If you go to Gurzuf, you should definitely go to the Pushkin Museum, see Chekhov's "White Dacha", visit the Korovin House of Creativity, not to mention the amazing natural attractions.

In Livadia you can visit not only the Livadia Palace itself - the residence of the last Russian Tsar, and the adjacent park, but also see the recently opened monument in honor of the Yalta Conference of 1945 - the figures of the leaders of the "Big Three" Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill, as well as go to the museum of artist Mikhail Pugovkin.

In Miskhor and Simeiz you can see centuries-old trees and tropical plants in parks - monuments of landscape gardening art. Well, in Nikita - the pearl of the South Coast, visit the botanical garden, which delights visitors with exotic flowers and unique trees.

You can climb to the top of Mount Ai-Petri, see the waterfalls and see the whole of Yalta in full view, from above from the cable car.

And Alupka, with its Gothic Vorontsov Palace and magnificent garden, will captivate even the most spoiled tourist.

To be in Yalta and not visit the Swallow's Nest castle means not to see Yalta, because this original building is the calling card of the Southern Coast of Crimea.

But even without leaving Yalta, that is, in the city itself you can see a lot of interesting things. Even just walking around the city, it is impossible not to come across some memorable place or attraction. Monuments to the poetess Lesya Ukrainka (on Ekaterininskaya Street), Pushkin and film industrialist Alexander Khanzhonkov (on Pushkinskaya Street), writer and screenwriter Yulian Semenov (at the Oreanda Hotel), the composition “The Lady with the Dog and Chekhov” (on the Embankment).

And how many famous people lived here - you can just walk around the city and study the places where great or popular writers, actors, singers lived!..

You should definitely go to the Chekhov Theater.

This is an ancient, restored, magnificent building with a cozy hall, with traditions, just a Mecca for all theatergoers. The Yalta Theater, unfortunately, does not have its own troupe, but groups from famous theaters in Moscow, theaters in Sevastopol and Simferopol, popular actors and musicians constantly tour here. International competitions and festivals are held here, including the famous "Theatre. Chekhov. Yalta", "Theatre. Debut. Yalta" and

"Folk without borders" The theater is located in the very center of the Embankment, in a very beautiful place, the hall is almost never empty, and during the season there are performances or concerts here every day. Ticket prices start from 150 rubles.

Concerts of stars - performances by pop singers, KVNs, are held in Yalta in the Yubileiny concert hall, which is located near the Chekhov Theater, in Chernomorsky Lane.

Fans of Russian literature will be very interested in visiting Chekhov's house - a favorite place for fans of Anton Pavlovich. Chekhov was in love with Crimea and spent his last years of his life in Yalta, where he wrote many stories and plays. The museum is located in a picturesque garden; the house itself has nine rooms that can be visited by tourists. Conferences, exhibitions, concerts, Chekhov readings, and musical evenings are held here.

The museum is open every day except Monday and Tuesday, and is closed only on Mondays in the summer. Opening hours from 10.00 to 17.00. On Wednesdays the museum is open until 20.00. The museum is located at Kirova, 112, you can walk to it from the city center, but it is better to get there by transport - by trolleybus No. 1 to the Pionerskaya stop or by bus No. 8 to the Chekhov House Museum stop.

If you come to Yalta with children, then you will not be bored. There is a lot of entertainment for children in Yalta and there is also something to see.

A trip to the famous Glade of Fairy Tales will probably take you the whole day, and then you will want to come back here more than once. This is a unique open-air fairy tale museum at the foot of Stavri-Kaya, where you can visit the living Baba Yaga, visit the kingdom of crooked mirrors, meet many fairy-tale characters, and watch cartoons. "Glade of Fairy Tales" is open seven days a week, from 9.00 to 17.30. Travel by buses No. 115/26, 102/27 (from the Bus Station to the “Polyana Skazok” stop)

and minibus No. 24 (from the Spartak stop to the final one)

Ticket prices:

adult (children from 12 years old) - 200 rub.

children (from 6 to 11 years old) - 100 rubles.

children under 6 years old - free.

You can also visit the “Sea Aquarium” and the theater of marine animals “Aquatoria” with children, but personally I think that this is a dubious pleasure. Animals should live in their natural habitat, in wildlife, and not tumble around in chlorinated water for the public.

But the famous Yalta Zoo "Fairy Tale" is probably worth a visit. This is not at all like a prison for animals; it is a place where animals live in conditions close to natural. They really love animals here, they take care of them, investing their soul and energy, it is allowed to feed the animals here, and on the “Granny’s Yard” you can even communicate with our little brothers in close proximity, because this part is the so-called petting zoo. You can get to Skazka by minibuses No. 24, 115, 102. In summer, the zoo is open from 9.00 to 20.00, in winter: from 9.00 to 17.00. Ticket price: Adult - 500 rubles, children - 250 rubles.

In short, in Yalta there is always something interesting to do for both adults and children. You won’t get bored here at any time of the year!

When you come to Yalta on vacation, you can, of course, spend your entire vacation on the beach. However, this would simply be blasphemy to local attractions. What to see in Yalta? By the way, Big Yalta is not just a city, but rather a general name that combines a number of cities and towns on the southern coast of Crimea. These are Massandra, Livadia, Oreanda, Gurzuf, Miskhor, Gaspra, Koreiz, Alupka, Simeiz, Foros. I present to your attention a hit parade of places that you can’t ignore while in Crimea:

  • Bird home. I propose to unconditionally give the palm to the mysterious castle on the cliff. "Swallow's Nest" is the number one tourist attraction in Ukraine. It's no joke, a real medieval knight's castle is located on a steep cliff, rising 40 meters above the sea. On the territory of the castle there is a restaurant where you can dine while admiring the panorama of the Black Sea. You can get to Swallow's Nest by bus from the Yalta bus station, or by pleasure boat from one of the piers.

  • Small rolling road. From the very center of Yalta you can climb Darsan Hill in cozy carriages of a small cable car. A short trip will not take much time, but it will allow you to admire the beautiful views of the resort town and the ships scurrying in the Black Sea.

  • Big cable car "Miskhor-Ai-Petri". The cable car, which is almost 3 kilometers long, will take you to a height of 1153 meters above the level in 15 minutes with one transfer. The view of the entire Black Sea coast of Crimea will certainly not leave anyone indifferent. You can have lunch on the open terrace of the restaurant, which is located right next to the cable car. Delicious barbecue and wine accompanied by amazing scenery, what could be better? It can be windy at the top, so be sure to bring a windbreaker. If you are planning to ride the big cable car, please be patient; there may be a long line at the ticket office. You can go down from Mount Ai-Petri by minibus or taxi. The Ai-Petrinskaya highway is an entertaining serpentine road, and as one Yalta driver claimed, it makes 101 turns of 180 degrees.

  • Nikitsky Botanical Garden. The botanical garden is a well-groomed area filled with many different exotic plants and rare relict trees, and is divided into an upper and lower park. The cactus greenhouse and bamboo grove deserve special attention. In addition, seasonal exhibitions and expositions are held in the park. This place is ideal for collecting herbarium photos with children.

  • Massandra. To visit Crimea and not see with your own eyes the heart of Crimean winemaking, Massandra, would be simply blasphemy. Today, the tasting complex of the Massandra enterprise, known far beyond the borders of Ukraine, has opened its doors to everyone, offering a fascinating tour of the winery, a visit to the cellar gallery, an introduction to the wine-making process and, of course, tasting. While in Massandra, do not forget to visit the palace of Emperor Alexander III, it is quite remarkable for its architecture. Now there is a museum on the palace grounds, and enthusiastic guides willingly lead tours of the former imperial chambers.

  • Zoo and Museum "Glade of Fairy Tales" If you are traveling with children, check out the largest zoo on the coast, "Skazka"; it is located at the foot of the Stavri-Kaya mountain and is adjacent to an interesting open-air museum. In the open clearing there are sculptures of familiar fairy tale characters from childhood. The museum is called “Glade of Fairy Tales”.

  • Trolleybus line Yalta-Sevastopol. Have you ever ridden an intercity trolleybus? If not, then be sure to take a ride along the world's longest trolleybus route from Yalta to Simferopol. Although the length of the route is more than 70 kilometers, it is difficult to get bored along the way. The pictures changing outside the window along the mountain line are pleasing to the eye.

  • Cave cities. On the inner ridge of the Crimean Mountains there are 14 medieval cave cities. The most popular among tourists are Chufut Kale, Mangup Kale and Eski-Kermen. Each of them is beautiful in its own way, but from the point of view of entertainment, Eski-Kermen is the leader. This ancient city is extremely unusual; the pit-storage system preserved from ancient times gives the impression of unreality. By the way, it was here that one of the episodes of Fedr Bondarchuk’s film “9th Company” was filmed.

I'll stop there. Of course, everyone who has visited Crimea will definitely find something to add to the above list, because this is a fertile region for tourists, where there is entertainment for every taste. All you have to do is choose the most attractive sites to visit and decide to join an excursion or sightsee on your own.

Reading reviews about Yalta on tourism forums, you most often come across such epithets as “the pearl of Crimea”, “heaven on earth”, “fairy-tale country”. Indeed, walking around this city, you often come across a feeling of the unreality of what is happening. Unique architectural structures, inscribed in picturesque subtropical landscapes, are very similar to fairy-tale castles.

Architects and sculptors were so inspired by the local nature that the city of Yalta itself and its surroundings are, one might say, overflowing with attractions.

Natural attractions When starting a conversation about Yalta nature, we must first say that the city owes its unique climate to the mountain ring that encircles it. From the north and east, the subtropical climate is protected from cold winds by the Yalta and Nikitskaya yayla (mountain plateau), and from the west by Mount Magobi. In a lowland on three hills is located “Big Yalta” - a kind of tourist metropolis, which includes the villages of Alupka, Massandra, Foros, Livadia, Gurzuf, Nikita and Oreanda. That's why

a tourist will always have something to see both in Yalta itself and in the surrounding area.

Ai-Petri yayla and Mount Ai-Petri

This mountain range is known primarily for Mount Ai-Petri, the height of which is very easy for schoolchildren to remember - 1234 meters. A 3 km long cable car leads to the top of the mountain from the village of Miskhor. After spending about twenty minutes,

you will get the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful panorama of mountain valleys, forests, capes and other natural attractions of Greater Yalta.

After admiring the views and filling your phone’s memory card with photos, be sure to go down into the Priaipetrinskaya karst basin, in the very center of which go even lower - into the Geofizicheskaya mine.

This cave is unique in that you can observe a rare luminescent phenomenon there: rock formations, after hitting them with bright light (for example, from a flashlight or flash), glow for some time. However, do not think that you are descending into dark, dangerous dungeons, because the cave is well lit and equipped with a spiral staircase.

The Uchan-Su River flows from the Aypetry Mountains, which translated from the Crimean Tatar language means “flying water”. The height of the waterfall is about 100 meters. To feel all its power and grandeur, you need to climb the stairs from the observation deck to the upper cascade.

Approaching the foot of the waterfall, you experience deja vu and only then remember that you have already seen this landscape on your monitor screensaver more than once. Often this is a personal photo of someone who has visited this beautiful waterfall.

There are other attractions in Yalta that you can see on your own. For example, history buffs will be attracted Mount Cat, where you can walk through the ruins of a medieval castle, see the single rock Red Stone with the ruins of an observation post.

It will also be interesting take a walk through the tunnel of the Dzhenevez-Kaya rock, which in tsarist times was planned to be connected by cable car to the sea cliffs of Adalara. And, of course, definitely wander the quiet coves of capes Sarych and Ai-Todor. In short, there are enough impressions for a whole book.

Architectural sights and parks of Yalta

Walking around Yalta and taking photos of the city, you will almost certainly see one of the local attractions in your frame. Uniquely beautiful nature at different times it attracted “the mighty of this world” here: statesmen, aristocrats, entrepreneurs, for whom real architectural masterpieces were erected, surrounded by no less beautiful parks. That's why tourists always have something to see in Yalta and its surroundings, but it is simply impossible to see all the sights in one day or a week. Although you can always choose magnificent places for yourself, where it is pleasant to stroll along cypress alleys, walk along numerous sculptures, man-made canals and majestic fountains. Who, for example, has not heard of magnificence Massandra or Livadia Palace, I haven’t even seen the photos Swallow's nest? In short, if you wish, you can find many architectural sights of Yalta with photos and descriptions on the Internet.

I would like to dwell in more detail on Yusupov Park and Palace. This complex is perhaps the most expensive in terms of excursions, so tourists often choose cheaper options. But in vain, because Many interesting historical events are associated with the palace.

The Yusupov Palace was built at the beginning of the twentieth century on the site of the estate of Princess Golitsyna. It was the princess who laid out a park in this place with the rarest varieties of trees and flowers, and the architects of Prince Yusupov redeveloped the park, decorating it (as well as the palace itself) with many sculptures, some of which were specially brought from Venice.

During the Yalta Conference, the Soviet delegation was housed in the Yusupov Palace. Stalin apparently chose it because it contained a bunker in which the Generalissimo worked and spent the night. By the way, a festive dinner was held in the palace dining room in honor of Churchill and Roosevelt. Believe me An excursion to the Yusupov Palace is worth booking.

During his stay in the Yusupov Palace, Stalin slept in a bunker, covered with an overcoat.

Even if you're not a huge nature fan (though why go to Yalta then?), you should still visit Nikitsky Botanical Garden, Yalta Nature Reserve and Cape Martyan Nature Reserve. These are the sights of Yalta that are most interesting for tourists. Enough has been written about the Nikitsky Botanical Garden for you to go there with your whole family without hesitation. And after walking there, also go to the Cape Martyan Nature Reserve - it’s very close to the botanical garden. Here you will see the Crimean nature almost untouched by man and will be able to walk along the picturesque sea coast.

Museums of Yalta

In Yalta there is also something to see and where to go for a tourist who loves cultural recreation. Connoisseurs of A.P.’s creativity Chekhov can learn about the Yalta period of the writer, visit the office where “Three Sisters” and “The Cherry Orchard” were written. The guide will also tell you what Chekhov talked about in these rooms with Bunin, Kuprin, Levitan and Chaliapin, as well as how Mikhail Bulgakov worked on the writer’s archives at the Belaya Dacha.

One of the branches of the museum is located in Gurzuf, right on the seashore, where Chekhov had another small residence. In the same village you can visit the Pushkin Museum, where the great poet and writer worked on the poem “Prisoner of the Caucasus.” And be sure to stop by Gurzuf Park to admire the “Night” fountain.

History buffs will be attracted by the museum, which contains an interesting exhibition of the ancient and medieval periods of Crimea. The guides will also talk about the tourist history of Yalta and show what the Yalta embankment looked like in different historical periods.

Where to go in Yalta with children

Many parents are wondering how to pick up their children from the beach during the period of greatest solar activity? You can, of course, give a useless lecture about the dangers of ultraviolet radiation or simply order the child into the room or at least under a beach umbrella. But with such methods you will simply ruin your vacation.

That's why It’s best to go with your child to the “Glade of Fairy Tales”, located in the suburbs of Yalta. This - fascinating open-air museum park.

The history of the park dates back to the 60s of the twentieth century, when the forester of the Yalta Nature Reserve Pavel Bezrukov began making fancy figures of heroes of Russian folk tales from the trunks and rhizomes of fallen trees and displaying them in front of his house. Today, the Glade of Fairy Tales contains more than 200 sculptures made of different materials - from wood to plexiglass. So, if you are wondering how to tear your child away from gadgets at least for a little while and what you can see in Yalta with your child, then you should come to the Glade of Fairy Tales.

A few more steps and you're in Zoo "Fairy Tale". This is the first private zoo in Crimea, where since 1995 its creators managed to collect more than 200 species of animals, placing them in a habitat suitable for them.

Therefore, if you and your children have not been to Australia, here they will be able to see with their own eyes how kangaroos really jump. Believe me, this is not at all like in a regular zoo, where animals are limited in space.

And of course, everyone who comes to Yalta must go to Blue Bay water park, where visitors can enjoy 11 different water attractions (not counting the water bar), comfortable sun loungers, a cafe and a pizzeria.

Holidays for adults

Yalta has interesting attractions and entertainment for adults. First of all, this is, of course, winery "Massandra".

There you will not only be given a fascinating tour of the plant itself and the wine cellars, but also invited to the tasting room, where you can savor real Crimean vintage wine and purchase the varieties you like. Therefore, if you don’t like to sit in your room, you shouldn’t rack your brains about where, for example, to go in Yalta in the rain. Minibuses always run to the winery from the city center.

Well, in the evening you just need to go out Yalta embankment. Walking along the sea, you can choose entertainment for every taste - from a pleasant lunch in a summer restaurant with live music or an evening boat ride to expensive shopping and dance parties in one of the Yalta nightclubs.

What you can see in Yalta in 1 or several days

Those who decide to devote several days to getting to know the sights of Yalta need to develop routes to leave the city in the morning and return back in the evening. The following options can be offered:

Western route:

Eastern route:

  • from Yalta go to(about 20 minutes by transport), where you can go to the Chekhov Museum and the Pushkin Museum, stroll through the Gurzuf Park and see the Gorzuvita fortress;
  • visit Nikitsky Botanical Garden(about 13 minutes by transport or about 2 hours walk through Pushkinskaya embankment);
  • on the way to Massandra(about 30 minutes by public transport) visit the Massandra Palace, and then go for a wine tasting at the Massandra factory;

The resort of Yalta is deservedly the pearl of the beautiful southern coast of Crimea. The city, surrounded by greenery, is framed by majestic mountains. The picturesque place creates conditions for a carefree beach holiday, cultural pastime and familiarization with unique architectural objects. Against the backdrop of natural beauty, numerous parks, historical buildings with luxuriously decorated facades and entertainment complexes appear before the gaze of the tourist. On the edge of the cliff of Cape Ai-Todor rises one of the symbols of the Southern Coast of Crimea - the Gothic castle "Swallow's Nest". The small palace, whose height is 12 meters, was built in the style of medieval architecture. The round tower with spiers, battlements, narrow lancet windows are reminiscent of the times of valiant knights. The landmark acquired its modern appearance at the beginning of the 20th century, when oil industrialist Baron Steingel wanted to recreate the romance of the architecture of German castles in Crimea.

The project was implemented by architect Leonid Sherwood. Under his leadership, a stone Gothic structure appeared on a forty-meter picturesque cliff. In the context of anti-German sentiment that arose after the outbreak of the First World War, the baron sold the Swallow's Nest to a Moscow merchant, who opened a restaurant in the palace. Tourists can get aesthetic pleasure from admiring the castle from the top of the observation deck, as well as from the sea.

Dulber Palace

In the village of Koreiz, which is located not far from Yalta, stands the magnificent Dulber Palace, built in the Moorish style. This masterpiece of oriental architecture was erected in 1897 for Prince Peter Romanov, who was the uncle of Emperor Nicholas II. The palace is an elongated white building with silver domes, battlements, arcaded galleries, balconies and arched window openings. The façade of the building is decorated with blue ornaments and colored mosaics, embodying motifs of oriental culture.

The Dulber Palace is surrounded by an amazingly beautiful garden, divided into several terraces. Cypress trees, junipers, palm trees, fir and other evergreen conifers grow here. In the garden there is a fountain, a gazebo and a swimming pool. Near the palace, in a stone wall covered with braids of ivy, a decorative niche with a medallion depicting the initials of the owners of the estate has been preserved.

Vorontsov Palace

Summer residence of the Governor of the Novorossiysk Territory, Count M.S. Vorontsov is a popular attraction in Greater Yalta. The combination of different architectural styles of the monumental palace complex amazes with the grace of its forms. The castle, built in the first half of the 19th century, majestically rises above the natural beauties of the Crimea. Rocky mountain peaks and emerald waters of the Black Sea appear before your eyes. All around is a charming subtropical park with winding paths, several artificial ponds, open areas, fountains and sculptural compositions.

Visitors to the architectural complex will have a pleasant walk along well-groomed alleys with plane trees, pine trees, magnolias and cypress trees. The facades of the Vorontsov Palace have a characteristic Gothic and Oriental design. Here you can see strict vertical projections, battlements, towers, high arches, minarets, openwork carvings and graceful thin columns. The luxurious interior of the castle is amazing. Antique furniture is placed in numerous rooms. The premises are decorated with an abundance of unique historical exhibits. These are paintings, statues, tapestries, carpets, vases, elaborate candlesticks and much more.

Massandra Palace

At the foot of the mountain, surrounded by forest, the fabulously beautiful Massandra Palace was erected. The estate is located in the village of Verkhnyaya Massandra, which is 5 kilometers from Yalta. According to the architectural design, the three-story building was supposed to serve as the summer residence of the imperial couple and was not intended for ceremonial receptions. The castle, built at the beginning of the 20th century, was never inhabited by the monarch. The royal family came here only once, spending a day walking around the picturesque surroundings, but did not stay overnight.

The palace fits harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The estate is surrounded by small flower beds, stairs and sculptures. The terraces are framed by a stone balustrade with flowerpots. There are green lawns with tall trees all around. The façade of the castle makes an indelible impression. Numerous turrets of various shapes with sharp spiers, walls lined with yellow tiles, a gallery with columns, balconies, high chimneys, and decorative ornaments give the building a cozy fairy-tale look.

Yusupov Palace

In the resort village of Koreiz, an elegant palace soars upward, built at the beginning of the 20th century for one of the richest aristocratic dynasties of the Russian Empire - the Yusupovs. After the revolution, the architectural masterpiece was nationalized by the Soviet authorities and served as a vacation spot for the party elite. Later the building was used as the summer residence of I.V. Stalin. The appearance of the small palace characteristically conveys the features of the strict and monumental neo-Romanov architectural style combined with elements of Renaissance architecture.

The facades of the asymmetrical building, the walls of which are made of marble-like limestone, are decorated with arched galleries with graceful rows of colonnades, as well as lancet and square windows with decorated platbands. The park area of the estate deserves special attention. The building is framed by numerous green spaces. Palm trees, cypresses, thujas, acacias and plane trees grow here. A variety of flower beds and curly shrubs are pleasing to the eye. The park is replete with marble sculptures of lions and mythical heroes. Shady alleys, fountains, and artificial ponds create coolness in the summer heat.

Livadia Palace

Among the picturesque landscape park on the mountainside, the architectural pearl of Crimea - the Livadia Palace - rises majestically. This exquisitely beautiful snow-white estate was the favorite summer residence of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. The palace was erected in 1911 under the direction of the architect Nikolai Krasnov. The architectural style of the building meets the canons of the Italian Renaissance. The lightness, airiness and elegance of the exterior decoration of the building are given by openwork stucco ornaments, columns and arched arcades. The façade of the palace, stretched along the park, has an asymmetrical shape.

The structure is topped with a balustrade. There is a luxurious garden around it with neat droshky, gazebos, fountains and well-groomed alleys. Lush coniferous and broad-leaved trees, shrubs, and flower beds create a wonderful fragrant atmosphere. The palace complex gained worldwide fame in 1945, when the Yalta Conference was held within its walls. The post-war fate of the world was decided here, as evidenced by the monumental sculptural composition of the figures of Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt.

Palace of the Emir of Bukhara

An amazingly beautiful architectural creation, built in the Moorish style, is located next to the Yalta embankment. The palace of the Emir of Bukhara seems to have stepped out of the pages of a book of oriental fairy tales. The Muslim prince Seid Abdul Akhan Khan, who was friends with the imperial Romanov family, acquired a plot of Yalta land, on which in 1910 he erected a future architectural monument.

The two-story asymmetrical building is richly decorated with elegant carvings and alabaster stucco. Faceted towers, silver domes, pilasters, horseshoe-shaped window openings and jagged parapets give the snow-white facade a special exoticism. Today the palace is one of the buildings of the sanatorium. Its premises house a library and an aromatherapy treatment room.

Ropeway "Yalta - Gorka"

While taking a pleasant walk along the Yalta embankment, tourists can go on a short trip along the Yalta-Gorka cable car. This attraction has been delighting resort guests since 1967. Oval and cramped booths, designed for two people, slowly move in a row over the treetops, roofs of ancient houses, and various buildings of the city quarter.

The ascent is carried out without stopping. From a bird's eye view, panoramic views of the enchanting natural landscapes of mountain ranges and the emerald sea open up. The length of the route is 600 meters. The end point of the cable car is Darsan Hill. At an altitude of 120 meters above sea level there is an observation deck, the Eternal Flame memorial complex and a cozy cafe.

The Tsar's (Sunny) Path

The Solar or Royal Path was laid at the beginning of the 20th century between the Livadia Palace and the Ai-Todor estate in Gaspra. Fans of active recreation can hit the favorite walking spots of Emperor Nicholas II. The historic seven kilometers of hiking trail stretches along the ridge in the shady forest. The asphalt trail does not have sharp ascents and descents, so the walk will bring great pleasure to tourists.

The highlight of the wide and flat Tsar's Road is the magnificent rotunda with columns, built on the edge of a steep cliff. Here the emperor could observe the azure sea, mountain peaks and inspect his Crimean possessions. Coniferous, beech and juniper plantings shade the entire trail. There are many equipped benches where you can relax, enjoying the clean air, picturesque surroundings and silence.

Winery "Massandra"

Crimea has long been famous for the production of fine wines. The local subtropical climate contributes to the favorable maturation of the drink. On the slope of the mountain is located one of the largest domestic wineries, Massandra, founded in 1894 by Prince L. Golitsyn.

The winery is a complex of buildings under which there are seven 150 m long tunnels. Countless oak barrels and glass bottles of wine are stored in the underground rooms, where the temperature remains within +10-12 degrees year-round. Here you can see rare and most valuable varieties of wines, recognized as the best in the world. On the territory of the plant there is a museum, a tasting room and a small bar.

Nikitsky Botanical Garden

Six kilometers from Yalta is the unsurpassed Nikitsky Botanical Garden. This place delights visitors all year round with the diversity of flora with its wonderful colors and aromas of flower beds. The territory of 280 hectares contains a large collection of flora, consisting of more than 18 thousand species and varieties of various crops. Nikitsky Botanical Garden was founded in 1812 by decree of Emperor Alexander I. The main inspirer and creator of the fragrant park was the Swedish naturalist H. Steven.

The scientist was engaged in growing exotic fruit plants that were supposed to adapt to the local Crimean climate. Along the tiled winding paths there are alleys of numerous coniferous and deciduous trees, the abundance of which will take your breath away. Here you can walk under the canopies of majestic and centuries-old pines, oaks, cedars, cypresses, sequoias and plane trees. A bamboo and olive grove, a cactus greenhouse, and flower beds of exquisite flowers attract attention.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

One of the central attractions of the city of Yalta is the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, rising at the foot of Mount Darsan among evergreen conifers and palm trees. The temple was built at the dawn of the last century in memory of the murdered Emperor Alexander II. An outstanding creation in the style of ancient Russian architecture, square in plan, impresses with its beauty and majesty. The facades of the church are lined with white, yellow and pink shades.

The golden domes, hipped porch, pilasters and numerous intricate patterns evoke a feeling of delight. The mosaic panel depicting Prince Alexander Nevsky, made by Venetian craftsmen, is worthy of interest. The interior of the cathedral is decorated with icons and frescoes. The interiors of the church are painted with colorful paintings with small drawings of holy images.

Water park "Atlantis"

Fans of active entertainment will enjoy visiting the Atlantis water park. The open-air water complex is located in a picturesque area of Yalta, where hills rise high on one side, and the endless expanse of sea stretches on the other. The water park is designed in the style of the legendary civilization of Atlantis. Stone slabs, monumental architectural ensembles and statues of gods immerse you in the atmosphere of an exciting adventure. The area includes breathtaking water attractions, children's playgrounds with slides, several swimming pools with comfortable sun loungers and catering establishments.

Wuchang-Su Waterfall

On the southern slope of the majestic mountains framing the city of Yalta, there is a magically bewitching natural attraction of the southern coast of Crimea - the Uchan-Su waterfall. An endless and thundering stream of water rushes rapidly into the abyss from a hundred-meter huge rock, filling the healing air with the freshness of small splashes.

A cascading plume of water surrounds a relict resinous pine forest. The trees are more than several hundred years old. The waterfall is formed by a mountain river, the source of which is formed at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level. The full-flowing power and beauty of Wuchang-Su can only be appreciated in early spring after the glaciers melt or during heavy rainfall. In the hot summer, the miracle of nature dries up and a thin stream of a stream appears to the gaze of tourists.

Zoo "Fairy Tale"

Surrounded by the Crimean Mountains and among lush vegetation, there is the private Skazka Zoo. This picturesque place gives visitors a lot of pleasant experiences. The landscaped area is a striking example of landscape art with multi-level terraces, green spaces, sculptural compositions and fountains. Here you can feel the atmosphere of harmonious unity between man and animals. More than 1,500 animals live in spacious enclosures covered with a special mesh or protected with glass panels.

Excellent conditions have been created for the zoo's inhabitants, as close as possible to the natural environment of the wild. Zoo guests are fascinated by the diversity of colorful fauna. The most attention is drawn to the graceful and formidable cat family: lions, tigers and leopards. Eagles, vultures and ostriches proudly look at visitors. It is interesting to observe the behavior of monkeys frolicking amusingly in their cages. Giraffes, camels, zebras and bears excite children. The Skazka Zoo guarantees a charge of joy and a great time.

Yalta Crocodilarium

A relatively new attraction of the resort - the Crocodilarium - will add variety to your walk along the Yalta embankment. This place will surprise lovers of amphibians, reptiles and reptiles. The establishment's pets are distributed in thematic rooms, in which enclosures and aquariums are installed. More than a hundred species of crocodiles live here. Predators of various sizes swim in the pool or lie on the rocks waiting for prey. Their menacing appearance, cold-blooded gaze and sharp teeth evoke fear. In addition to a large number of crocodiles, visitors can see numerous turtles, pythons, iguanas and frogs.

Roffe Baths

One of the pearls of the Yalta embankment is the historical building, which housed the baths of the wealthy French merchant A.I. Roffe. This building, which appeared in 1897, was popular among famous creative people, scientists and aristocrats. The baths were filled with heated sea water, which as a result had a healing effect on the body of visitors. Among the guests of the medicinal baths at one time were A. Chekhov, I. Bunin and F. Chaliapin.

The amazingly snow-white architectural building is decorated with a ceremonial horseshoe-shaped portal in the Moorish style. Lancet windows and elegant plaster stucco molding attract the attention of vacationers. On the façade of the building is carved Arabic script - “Be blessed like water.” Today, instead of the Roffe baths, there is an elite hotel. In front of the building you can see the monument “Lady with a Dog”.

Museum of Sculpture and Floristry "Glade of Fairy Tales"

“Meadow of Fairy Tales” is a famous park that was laid out on the slope of wooded mountains in the early 60s of the 20th century. It was given the status of a museum complex. The well-groomed area attracts adults and children with a variety of sculptural compositions of fairy-tale and cartoon characters. The characters of literary works of the peoples of the world are made of wood, metal, plaster, bronze and stone. There are about 300 magnificent sculptures in the park.

At the forest edge in the open air, such recognizable figures as Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow Maiden, Baby and Carslon, Mowgli, Three Little Pigs, the Swan Princess, Ole Lukoye and many other sculptures appear before the guests of the park. All exhibitions are signed, so visitors can easily remember all their favorite childhood heroes. An interesting place in the “Glade of Fairy Tales” is the Hut on Chicken Legs. After the famous spell is announced, the building turns towards the audience and the mistress of the house, Baba Yaga, appears on the porch.

Embankment

The main and favorite place for walking around the amazing Yalta is the embankment named after V.I. Lenin. This “heart” of the resort is famous for its wide and long pedestrian avenue stretching along the emerald Black Sea. Here you can take a pleasant promenade, enjoying the surrounding mountain ranges, the abundance of green spaces and the availability of entertainment for every taste. The enchanting landscapes will captivate your spirit. The street is lined with 19th-century buildings with decorated facades. These are restaurants, banks, boutiques, shops and souvenir shops.

Sculptural compositions and benches are installed under the crowns of lush coniferous and palm trees. Beautiful yachts, boats and impressive cruise liners are moored in the city’s waters. On the embankment there is a special atmosphere of a festive carnival around the clock. Music plays everywhere, bright lights shine, and street performers, dancers, mimes and artists delight the guests of Yalta with their talents. There are playgrounds with various attractions for children. Adult vacationers are happily greeted by cozy cafes and restaurants.

Foros Park

One of the best garden and park complexes in Crimea is located in the village of Foros. The picturesque park of the small resort was founded in 1834. More than 200 different species of exotic trees and plants are planted on an area of 70 hectares. In terms of the richness of flora and beauty of the landscape, the Foros Park is a worthy competitor to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. The well-groomed alleys are impressive, along which the trunks of evergreen coniferous and deciduous trees rush upward.

The territory is divided into three zones. The upper part is a dense forest with winding paths. The middle zone was called “Paradise”. Here, six artificial reservoirs with lilies and fish are connected in a cascade. The banks of the ponds are framed by cypress, pine and cedar groves, and also decorated with gazebos, sculptures and massive stones. The lower part of the park is a sea coast with long piers.

Attractions

Swallow's Nest is one of the most romantic and small castles in the world. Being similar to a medieval building, it has nothing to do with such a high-profile title. At the end of the 19th century, a retired general of the Russian-Turkish war received this place for his services, where he built himself a small wooden house.

Later it was resold several times until it became the property of a German oil industrialist. He wanted to see a structure hovering above the sea in this place, reminiscent of the Belem Tower or Villa Miramare near Trieste. This is how the now famous “Swallow’s Nest” appeared. A luxurious garden was laid out next to the house. Crimea is an area with seismic activity. During a small earthquake, the section of rock on which the castle garden was located collapsed into the sea.

Before the First World War the castle was sold. It went through a period of abandonment, then lengthy restoration and strengthening. The building currently hosts various art exhibitions open to visitors. The castle remains one of the most romantic places in the world. Despite its modest interior decoration, very small size, and lack of special historical values, it attracts guests and is the calling card of Southern Crimea.

It owes its fame to its favorable location on the edge of a steep cliff and the most picturesque landscape that surrounds it at any time of the year.

If you rise a little higher from the observation deck, you can see the Wishing Tree - an original artifact for tourists. It is believed that if you put a coin in a chest, you will be haunted by a desire and everything will be fine.

Pleasure ships go to the Swallow's Nest from the Yalta embankment.

General Pushkin - pleasure boat to Swallow's Nest

Nikitsky Botanical Garden

How to get there: Address: Crimea, Yalta City Council, Nikita village, st. Nikitsky descent, 52

In the village of Nikita on the Southern Coast of Crimea there is a botanical garden. It was founded in 1812. The garden occupies 1200 hectares. Plants from all over the world are collected here, including many rare ones. A lot of flowers. In April and May, a huge number of tulips bloom in the garden. In May, lilacs bloom and the iris carnival takes place. In autumn, a chrysanthemum ball is held in the garden. In summer and autumn you can see many roses here. The garden has a collection of cacti. There is a butterfly garden.

Entrance to the territory of the botanical garden is 300 rubles. To see rare collections, you will have to pay extra.

You can just walk around the area all day. There are many benches and shopping pavilions with fast food.

This is not only one of the most beautiful park buildings, but also a well-known operating research center and nursery for garden and ornamental crops.

In the garden you can find many small fountains and ponds in which beautiful fish swim.

To the left of the entrance there is a feeding area for cats - of which there are quite a lot in the botanical garden. Cats fit quite harmoniously into the atmosphere of the garden.

The garden was founded in the 19th century and initially only fruit crops were grown in it. The need for its creation was dictated by the fact that the climate in Yalta and its surroundings is quite difficult for the survival of vegetation. Thanks to this garden, many fruit and berry and ornamental crops were developed that were suitable for these climatic conditions. As a result, varieties of apricots, figs, mulberries and other fruits have appeared that are not only not inferior to their counterparts from the black earth regions, but also superior in juiciness and taste.

Today the garden contains plants from different parts of the world. It’s always a pleasure to spend time here, wandering between glades, tulips, roses, various cacti, in a bamboo grove, among different types of coniferous trees. A walk through the garden with a guide will take at least an hour and a half. But you can wander here much longer.

How to get there: Address: Crimea, Alupka, sh. Dvortsovoye, 18

This palace is the most special of all the ones on the south coast. It was built for Count Vorontsov. It took about 20 years to build it. Having visited the South Coast, you can’t help but visit this man-made miracle.

Its interior decoration has been largely preserved, so it will be interesting to see it not only from the outside, but also from the inside. It is felt that its owner tried to make his house an indicator of prosperity and comfort. There are about 150 rooms inside. Not all are available for inspection. But even those that can be seen are interesting for their decoration, wall decoration, fireplaces, and furniture.

Its architecture fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. They say that the architect who designed it had never been here. I only saw drawings and photos of these places. Another master, who was present here throughout the construction, slightly changed the original project.

The palace has a winter garden and streets imitating a medieval city. It combines several styles. The main material from which it is made is local diabase stone. It is 2 times stronger than granite, but also more capricious in processing. For the construction and decoration of the palace, craftsmen from various construction specialties were assembled. Today the names of about 300 of them have been restored.

Its main entrance with an Arabic arch, an avenue of lions and a large staircase faces the sea. The inner side faces a small courtyard, behind which the equally beautiful Vorontsov Park begins. It was broken artificially. A huge amount of land was brought for him. Plants were collected from different parts of the world. The park has several lakes with clear water that flows into them from mountain streams. Today this palace and park are an open-air museum.

Mount Ai-Petri

How to get there: Navigator coordinates: Latitude 44°27′04″ / Longitude 34°03′10″

This symbol of Crimea is known for its crown-shaped peak, stunning views both of the mountain and from the top itself.
Its height is 1234m. Its teeth, which give it the appearance of a crown, are four sheer cliffs. You can climb it either by car, through serpentines, or by cable car. The cable car option is the most interesting. She's pretty cool. But during the climb, stunning views open up. At the top of the mountain you can admire the Yalta water area and the mountains stretching into the sea. True, it is cooler here than on the shore. You need to bring warm clothes.

And walk across suspension bridges! At such a height it is simply an unforgettable experience.

Here you can taste Crimean wine and national dishes.

Livadia Palace

How to get there: Address: Crimea, Yalta urban district, Livadia village, st. Baturina, 44a

One of the most famous attractions is the Livadia Palace of Nicholas II.

This palace, as it is today, was built in little more than a year as a summer residence for Nicholas II. This was done by the Russian architect Krasnov. The structure was erected after the Emperor visited Italy. It is built according to the type of Italian villas.

The emperor's family was extremely pleased. Majestic, snow-white, located in a beautiful place with amazing landscapes, I couldn’t help but like it. It was built from white Inkerman stone. The outer surface is coated with a special compound that protects the stone from weathering and contamination. All interior finishing details were designed by the architect and manufactured in Moscow. Everything about it should have spoken of the majesty of its owners. A large park with cozy alleys, gazebos, numerous fountains and views of wonderful landscapes has been laid out for them.

The Italian courtyard is located on the inside of the palace. Decorated with numerous arches and columns, it invites you to sit in its shade. There is also a small church here.

After the revolution, the Livadia Palace became a rest home for peasants. It is also famous for the fact that in 1945 the Crimean (Yalta) conference of heads of government of the coalition: USA, Great Britain, USSR (Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill) was held here.

Today the palace is open to tourists. Sometimes its halls are used for conferences and exhibitions.

How to get there: Address: Yalta, Vinogradnoye, Bakhchisarai highway
GPS coordinates of the navigator: 44°29’32″N 34°05’33″E

This waterfall is known not so much for the height and power of the water as for its beauty. But it is worth visiting it in spring or early summer, or in autumn, when it is full of water. Those who come at the end of summer risk being disappointed, since there will be little water and they will not get the proper impression. The waterfall is also beautiful in winter. During the cold season, people come here to look at the icy kingdom of many icicles and frozen spray. But such cold does not happen every winter.

It is located at an altitude of 8 km above Yalta. The height of the water falling from the sheer cliff is 98 meters. It is also called “hanging water”.
In spring, the waterfall is visible even from Yalta. The sound of falling water carries far. When falling, streams of water fall on the protruding stones in the rock, which gives it a special appearance. The water in it is the purest. Falling, it ends up in the Mogabinskoye reservoir, from where Yalta receives its water supply.
In the rock, which is located on the path of the waterfall, there is a small observation deck with a sculpture of an eagle taking off. If you walk a little below the waterfall, then by the river you can see the remains of a destroyed Greco-Byzantine fortress.
The road to the waterfall is well-maintained and spacious enough for walks, which will be a pleasure in themselves.

Massandra Palace

How to get there: Address: Crimea, Yalta urban district, Massandra village, Simferopol highway, 13

GPS coordinates for the navigator: Latitude 44°31′02″ / Longitude 34°12′10″

In March 1902, the construction of the Massandra Palace, in the form in which it has reached the present day, was completed. Exact calculations were made of how much money was spent on its construction - 978,443 rubles 42 kopecks. It was built at the expense of the treasury, and not from imperial money.

The architect who designed it and supervised the construction, Messmacher, wrote: “... the work on both the external and internal decoration of the palace... was carried out with such diligence, so solidly and conscientiously, that he, as I hoped, could well justify what was done to me by the Most August customer's gracious trust." And it was the honest truth.

But ironically, the palace was never a place for anyone to live there for a long time.

One of the most beautiful and worthy attractions of Crimea, the Massandra Palace has a rather sad history. The castle was based on the styles of the Renaissance and the Middle Ages. They fit perfectly into the landscape of the Crimean mountains.

The first construction of the palace was undertaken by Count Vorontsov. When the work was in full swing, the architect who was involved in the construction suddenly died of a heart attack. But the work continued. However, while the castle was still unfinished, its owner, Vorontsov, died.

After Vorontsov's death, the estate passed to his wife, who almost immediately sold it to Countess Shuvalova.

After that, it was purchased by Alexander III with the aim of developing industrial viticulture. The new owner liked the palace and commissioned the architect M.E. Messmacher to complete it. Under his leadership, the palace was completed, terraces and balconies were added, and many elements of the external facade were updated and changed. Heating, hot and cold water were installed, sewerage was installed and the water supply system was improved.
Much was planned, but in view of the death of Alexander III, an order was received from his heir Nicholas III to complete construction in a short time, reducing the number of projects.

Nicholas II did not really like Massandra. He visited this palace only sometimes during the day, and spent all his time in Livadia.
The palace was completed. It was joined by two picturesque towers and terraces; the interior decoration met modern tastes and traditions.
The palace in Massandra became a real “swan song” of the architect. He invested his talent, experience, and great knowledge in art history into it.
For decoration, complex technologies of carving and sculpting were used, wood burning was used to make entire panels, and walls and doors were painted with paints, then fixed in a special way.

Famous artistic organizations involved in decorating the palaces of St. Petersburg were involved in the decoration.

An engine room was built to service the palace. There was a park all around. It was supplemented by a large number of sculptures. 6 of them have survived to this day.
Today, much of what was there has not survived. However, even from what is there, one can judge how much effort, artistic talent, rare materials and technologies were used in its construction.

Yalta-Gorka cable car

It has been working since 1968. This is a small road that starts from the embankment itself. Its length is 600 meters. The travel time inside the small trailer, which creaks whenever it sways, is about 12 minutes. From the cabin you can look at small Yalta houses, the simple decoration of their courtyards, the Yalta embankment, the sea bay, and the surrounding amphitheater of mountains. She passes by the domes of the Alexander Nevsky Temple, the gymnasium named after. Chekhov. The second of the two stations is the final one, which is located on Gorka (Darsan Hill). Despite the short duration of this walk, many tourists enjoy doing it.

Yalta Crocodilarium

How to get there: Address: AR Crimea, Yalta, st. Ignatenko 1.

This new Yalta attraction appeared not so long ago. It all started with the birth of 7 Nile crocodiles in Alushta. This is how the first crocodiles appeared in Yalta.
Later they were joined by a pair of turtles. Then the crocodilarium became a home for monitor lizards, iguanas, pythons and other reptiles.

Here you can see an exhibition of the largest representatives of the ancient reptiles of our planet.
Creating optimal conditions for the life and reproduction of pets is the main goal of its creators.

Griffon turtles, tiger pythons, African protoptera, snapping turtles - and this is not a complete list of “residents of this house.”

Sunny path

How to get there: Address: Yalta, Livadia, st. Baturina, 44-a
GPS coordinates: 44°28’00″N 34°08’37″E

She's royal. Its length is more than 7500m. It connects the Livadia Palace and the village of Gaspra. It was designed to be comfortable for walking. Despite the mountainous Crimean terrain, walking along it is not difficult. It is devoid of steep descents and ascents. Hiking enthusiasts will not fail to appreciate it.

Almost all of it is buried in vegetation. It is relatively cool here even in the heat.
It is landscaped. This was the place where members of the royal family walked. From time to time along her path she comes across stone benches where she can rest. On your way you can turn off it and quickly get to some sanatoriums.

Since the time when kings loved to walk along it, it has changed. Sometimes she walks along the highway, sometimes next to a dusty construction site. Unfortunately, this is a tribute to the times.

Yalta is the most famous resort of Crimea and a beautiful city on the southern coast of the peninsula. It is surrounded on one side by high mountains, on the other side by the Black Sea. If during the tourist season life in Yalta is in full swing and crowds of tourists stroll along the embankment, then in winter this place becomes cozy and calm. Residents of Simferopol and Sevastopol come here for a walk. And some even go for the winter to watch the sunrise at sea every day.

One day

There are so many attractions in Yalta that your eyes widen from such diversity. If you come to the South Coast for one day, then you should not overestimate the number of hours in the day and your capabilities. I suggest focusing on feeling the atmosphere of the city, walking around to your heart’s content and making a plan for your next visit.

So, what can you do and see in one day in Yalta? Of course, take a walk along the Lenin embankment, look at the yachts, expensive shops and tourists, Vladimir Ilyich in palm trees with mountains in the background, seagulls and listen to where the ship is going this time for a boat trip.

Then you can turn into one of the streets and go for a walk through the cozy center with small houses covered with grapes and other plants unknown to mainland tourists, ancient villas and hotels, narrow streets with palm trees.

Another mandatory item on the one-day program in Yalta is a ride on the cable car. Looking at the city from above - what could be more beautiful!

Even if you don’t like museums, the house-museum of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov is still worth a visit. Find out why the writer moved to Yalta, how he lived, what he managed to write during this period, and why he bought a dacha in Gurzuf.

Take a walk on Massandra beach, and in the summer - swim. This place was reconstructed a few years ago and now it looks fashionable and modern, there are various cafes and restaurants, as well as cute souvenir shops.

Three days

Undoubtedly, the main attractions of Greater Yalta are Massandrovsky, Vorontsovsky and Livadia. You can see everything at once in one day if you go on a bus tour or in your own car. But I advise you to choose just one, so that you don’t have an overdose of impressions and a mess in your head.

The Vorontsov Palace in Alupka is reminiscent of English castles in its architecture. It fits well into the surrounding landscape, and looks especially wonderful against the backdrop of Mount Ai-Petri. I love not so much the interior of the palace as the large park with waterfalls, lakes and a descent to the sea.

The Livadia Palace is famous for the fact that it was here that the Yalta Conference took place after World War II. Churchill lived there and held meetings with Stalin and Roosevelt. The first floor is dedicated to this event; the second floor tells about the life of the imperial family, who loved to relax in this particular place. By the way, the famous Solar Path, along which Alexander III walked, begins from the Livadia Palace. Now it is not as impressive with its views as it was a hundred years ago, but there are still several equipped observation platforms, from one of which you can see Yalta.

Massandra Palace is the smallest. No one from the imperial family ever stayed there, there is almost nothing to see inside (especially if you love the Hermitage, Tsarskoye Selo Palace and the like). But the small park is quite picturesque, especially in foggy weather, when the palace itself and the mountains resemble the scenery of a Gothic film.

A visit to one of the Yalta palaces can be combined with a boat trip to the Swallow's Nest. This building is the hallmark of Crimea and the South Coast and looks great from the water. The building in its current form was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The earthquake of 1927 was fateful for him: part of the garden collapsed into the sea, the observation deck hanging over the cliff. In the early 2000s there was an Italian restaurant here, now there is a museum.

Another day is worth spending to visit. You can climb it by cable car, one of the spans of which is the longest unsupported in Europe, and go down by minibus through the Wuchang-Su waterfall. Previously, various entertainments were offered at the top: from delicious Crimean Tatar cuisine and local wine to rides on horses, camels and ATVs. However, in May 2017, by order of the leadership of the republic, demolition of cafes and restaurants began. What will happen in their place is still unknown. A must-see point when visiting Ai-Petri is the ascent along an easy path to the Zubtsy. There are also three caves on the plateau: Trekhglazka, Geofizicheskaya and Yalta.

A week

Even a week is not enough to see all the sights of Yalta, but if you wish, you can try to visit everything to the maximum. Families with children can go to the Glade of Fairy Tales Zoo, where you can feed the animals, although only with special food, which is sold at the entrance. I advise flora lovers to visit, where at any time of the year, even in winter, there is something to see. The best time to visit is spring. April opens with a parade of tulips, then irises, roses, clematis and other flowers bloom.

Do you like to visit different events? Then it’s time to go to the Massandra winery, take a fascinating tour of the wine cellars and taste classic Massandra wines.

Those who want to spend more time in Yalta itself and explore every corner of it should look into the Catholic Church on Pushkinskaya for an organ concert, sit on a stone bench near the Armenian Church, find a 19th-century mansion on the territory of the Happy Hotel and stroll along Sverdlova Street from top to bottom to see the Mordvinov Palace and several more ancient villas.

Greater Yalta includes many different villages, two of which are worth a separate discussion. In Simeiz you need to go for a day for leisurely walks along the streets and looking at the villas of the early 20th century, climbing the Diva rock, which participated in the filming of the film based on Agatha Christie’s “12 Little Indians,” as well as the obligatory swimming on the local beach. Gurzuf also takes time to enjoy the tranquility, count all the cats, look into the Pushkin Museum and Chekhov’s dacha, swim on the beach and in the bay next to Chekhov’s house, where Anton Pavlovich himself once swam, look at excursion to "Artek" and happy to go back to Yalta.

If you are a girl and are very tired of the race to museums and other wonderful sights, then you can devote one day in Yalta to yourself and only yourself. And this means going to the Spa. For example, at Spa Opera Prima in Primorsky Park or at Mriya Resort & Spa.

If you still have doubts about how to organize your acquaintance with Yalta and the surrounding area, then you can order from me.
